Community — Looking for Quest Keepers

What do Quest Keepers do? We're adding a new special member role: Quest Keepers ("Keepers"). These members would take the lead on creating monthly and periodic events around the site. These events can include small encounters within a single thread, such as a random NPC or creature appearing, unusual weather etc... or developing and running larger events within a Kingdom or across the whole site. This role is all about taking the lead to create spontaneous and frequent events that members can be excited for, to keep things fresh and fun. Expectations Create and run periodic events throughout each month in various areas of the board. Responsible for coordinating with other Keepers to keep events running on a timely schedule. Work together with other members to brainstorm and begin events specific to a Kingdom. Tag members in discord if a random event has started in their thread. Announce major events in the dicord. Consistently active in the community and discord. Other Details Are Keepers members of Staff? No. At this time, only our Admins are Staff. Keepers are creative individuals who will help brainstorm ideas, start and run events. They will be given a role in discord to allow them to post in Announcements and so others know who they can reach out to if they want to brainstorm an event idea together. How many Quest Keepers will be chosen? No specific number. We will determine this based on interest and needs of the site over time. After selection, Keepers will be on a temporary probationary status to allow us to determine if we need to add more Keepers. What happens if a Keeper isn't active? Staff may periodically check in with Keepers to see what events are running or what they are helping with. If a Keeper isn't able to consistently run events or needs a break, they will be removed from the role. This isn't a punishment and we may ask a Keeper to return again at a later time. Do Quest Keepers need to ask permission before posting events? Not necessarily. Keepers may start an encounter in any event-friendly threads. They may also start encounters for a specific Kingdom or territory. If the event is very large-scale, we ask that Keepers brainstorm with the Staff first just to make sure there is nothing lore-breaking. We want Keepers to have the freedom to take the lead on events! How will we know which threads are event-friendly? We will soon be implementing a system where thread-starters can be marked as event-friendly. Threads that do not have this marker may not be 'barged-into' randomly unless a player in that thread has requested it. Can other members still play NPCs or help with events? Yes. Anyone can play an NPC or help with events. Keepers will just be taking to lead so that we always have something fun and fresh going on.
