A redwood and sequoia forest of immense size. Enormous trees grow toward the sky with interlocking branches that become like roads up in the air. Like the trees, the creatures here are of unnatural, giant size and mysterious voices seem to echo through the trees.

Paws slowly padded through the wooded forest as a figure seemed to weave their way to and fro between the trees. Hues of purples, blues, pinks, and even golden stood out against the brown of the tree trunks and the lush green undergrowth. To any other who saw her from a distance, it was obvious she wasn’t from around here. Her magenta-hued eyes were filled with curiosity as she took in the trees and their size. Even a simple fern was at least as large as she was. It was astounding! Within the reaches of her invisible wakes radiated the scent of crisp pears, freshly bloomed wildflowers, and the sweetest honey from the hive. Not one of the scents seemed to overpower the others, but instead, they seemed to swirl and dance until they were combined into one singular scent.
For a moment, the she-wolf paused in her travels. How long had she been traversing this specific terrain? Her gaze tilted upwards as she tried to gauge the position of the sun, but alas not only did the trees block her view but beyond the leaves the sky was overcast. In fact, as she took in a deep breath she was able to smell the rich dampness of the earth beneath her. Her ears twitched as she could make out the faint rustling of the leaves as a peaceful drizzle of rain began to fall.
Everything was so calm here.
It was so different than what she had come from. Flashes of her past flooded her mind and fear tempted to grab hold of her as she tried to push her past away from her thoughts.
No...this is a new life.
She shook herself as if she hoped the thoughts of the past would fall to the ground. Then after a few more seconds, she decided to keep on pushing forward, unaware of her location.
Father was often away from the den for long periods of time. It gave the child a lot of time to do absolutely nothing within the den as she waited for him to come back with food or teach her how to use her wings or some other thing. But Roxanne's heart had a thirst for exploration and adventure, and with no other kids around she ended up doing a lot of things on her own. The leopardess had been using the day to practice hunting. She was still much too small to hunt anything like an antelope, so she took to hunting smaller critters like voles and rats. Her current prize, however, was a squirrel. Somehow, despite the bright pink and purple leopardess sticking out of this mostly greeen and brown backdrop like a sore paw pad, the squirrel nibbled away unaware at some nuts by the foot of a tall tree. She did her best hunter's crouch (complete with many inaccuracies), had her wings slightly outstretched, and her backlegs bent in preparation for a jump. Then, as the squirrel moved a bit away from her and put its back to her, she would leap out of the underbrush, using her outstretched wings to glide her forward, and attempt to pounce.
If successful, she will unintentionally use her illusion magic to disguise her presence long enough to successfully pounce on it, bringing its life to a messy end as she practices her killing bite. Triumphant, the girl will raise her tail and head high, meal held in her mouth. My first successful hunt! She'd caught bugs and stuff before, but they were hardly edible, and didn't really count in her eyes.
However, if she fails, her illusion magic will cease to work just as she leaps from the bushes, and the squirrel will be alerted. With its quick reaction, it will scamper up the tree before Roxanne could land on it. The girl would rest her forelegs on the tree's trunk in frustration, watching it rise higher and higher up the tree.
Regardless of the outcome, Roxanne's path wouuld eventually lead her to discovering the stranger she-wolf, her appearance sticking out nearly as sorely as Rox's own. The girl would immediately try to hide somewhere in the thicket, too curious to make a full retreat and opting to watch them instead.

With her eyes closed to the world around her, Fenwe was taking in and enjoying the sounds of the forest that made her feel akin to an ant. The soft pitter-patter of the rain hitting the leaves of the trees and the chorus of bird songs were especially soothing to her. She wasn’t sure where she was in the world at the moment, but alas, it didn’t matter to her all that much.
That was until her peaceful sounds were suddenly disrupted by the panicked squeak of someone or something. The scent of blood also followed it. Fenwe’s eyes snapped open and her ears stood at alert as she tried to scan for the source. Had the ones that killed her entire pack found her and followed her all the way here? She wasn’t even aware of who it was that killed her pack since she had been hidden when they attacked, but the scent of blood always made her wary of what lurked within the shadows.
For a brief moment, Fenwe’s eyes caught a glimpse of movement from the corner of her vision. She didn’t get a good look at who or whatever it was that was here. In fact, she wasn’t even entirely certain if there even was anybody there since she just barely saw the movement and the colors she thought she saw were similar to that of her own. Had she just seen her own tail? Was she just going crazy? The young she-wolf wasn’t too certain as to what she saw, but deep down she felt instinctively like there was something.
After debating what to do, Fenwe reached out with her mind cautiously. Slowly she felt the radius of her telepathy extend outwards around her until eventually she reached her limit. Once it was set to the maximum she paused for a second, she wasn’t exactly sure if it would work since she had never tried to do this while blocking out others. It was her first time giving this a go at all. So in case her voice couldn’t be heard, she also tried to speak through body language as well.
“Is someone there?,” her thoughtspeak called out into the silence while she lowered her head slightly and relaxed her ears to try and signal she meant no harm. However, in the case that there was someone who meant harm to her, Fenwe was still in a decent position to start running if need be. She wasn’t stupid after all and she sure as hell didn’t want to die.
The girl knew it was dangerous to be around strangers, and she knew she made a mistake in not being cautious enough to notice that her path held a stranger in it. But she couldn't risk exposing herself and running. What if they chased her? Tried to track her down? Stealth seemed to be the best option.
'Is anyone there?' Startled, she dropped the squirrel carcass and swung her head around. It sounded right next to her! And yet, there was no one around. No one but... The wolf. Did she do that? Roxanne tried to focus, two-toned eyes locking onto the other, wondering if she could speak without opening her mouth. Unintentionally, she would attempt to use her own illusion magic to project her voice as its own entity and ask, "Can you hear me?" She had no idea how any of this magic hoodoo works, nor did she know she had any of her own, but she's wanted some ever since Reed used hers to make tricks with her sword, and ever since her own father discovered he had magic too. Something she tries has to work!
(Charisma roll to see if she successfully uses Illusion to project her voice with no origin point)

thought-speak note: Fenwe is mute and communicates largely via her telepathy magic
There was a silence after Fenwe had let her telepathy reach out to whomever or whatever was there. For a moment, she had debated that maybe she was going crazy and that nothing was actually there…but then it happened.
Ears swiveled as she heard a voice. ‘Can you hear me?’ The voice sounded as if it was everywhere. Whomever this was, were they also able to use telepathy? No…this was actually a physical voice, but yet it seemed to hold no true origin. Fenwe was most intrigued by the odd phenomenon. Yet…if there was one thing that she was able to distinguish from the voice it was that it sounded younger. A child perhaps? Or someone cursed with the voice of a child? Whatever the case may be, Fenwe decided a change in approach might have been warranted.
“Yes,” She said telepathically in a calm tone as she shifted to sit, “I assure you I bear no ill will,” she tried again with a soft tone of voice. Fenwe had no idea where this other being was but she at least wanted to make sure she made it clear that she meant no harm. In fact, it was quite the opposite if it were indeed a child.
There it was again! The wolf was putting her voice in Roxanne's head. And she had heard her! So I do have powers! It took all her might not to dance with joy. I have powers! I have powers! I have powers!
Okay, okay, calm down, Roxanne. They're trying to speak to you. It was one thing for someone to say they meant no harm, and another to actually stay true to their words. She wondered if they could fly... No wings. It gave her some confidence. She'd stuff the squirrel carcass a little further under the bush, then tentatively slink her way out into the open. Her wings were outstretched, whole body low and on edge and eyes filled with caution; perhaps even a little fear.
She looked quite disheveled: not only did the rainwater from the bushes make her fur stick out in clumps, but the tuft of hair on her head stook out like a bad mohawk, and she was far skinnier than a child her age ought to be. Not yet malnourished, but she could get there just as easily as she could gain weight, "Hello," she said shyly, two-toned eyes refusing to take themselves off her, "How are you... In my head?"

Slowly time seemed to tick by as Fenwe waited for her company to present themselves. Was it a child and if so why were they out here…alone? Were they an orphan? Were they and their family displaced from their homeland? Had something terrible happened to them? Her thoughts ran rampant as she remembered scenes from her home before leaving — the scattered bodies. The scent of blood permeated through the air - clinging to every molecule so thickly that it seemed like it hung from every physical surface. Even now she still smelled blood…
Leaves rustled in the underbrush, bringing Fenwe’s attention back to the present situation. Pink-hued irises stared at the location as she watched the other present cautiously reveal themself. Their fur was various hues of pink and purple, similar to some of Fenwe’s hues. However, their body was that of a feline…not a lupin. The she-wolf inspected them as they became more visible. First off, they were considerably smaller. Now Fenwe wasn’t all too aware of feline body structure or conditioning..but she was judging this a child…and a rather skinny one at that. Mild concern filled her face as she took in every curve and bump from this young one’s frame. The poor thing also looked disheveled and scared -ready to jump at a moment’s notice with the wings that she had outstretched.
Although, perhaps the fear was due to Fenwe herself. It was wholly possible. Next to her, Fenwe nearly seemed like a giant from the little thing’s perspective she presumed. ’Hello’ the young girl’s voice shyly rang out against the white noise of the forest and a soft and kind smile grew on the she-wolf’s muzzle. ”Hello,” Fenwe responded kindly, Her own magenta-colored eyes now making contact with the young one’s own yellow eyes. When the poor thing spoke again at first Fenwe thought she was just asking how she was, but before she could even formulate an answer she realized that the girl paused and had asked about her telepathy. Was she not aware of magic? Was magic not common here? Where was here even?
A sigh left Fenwe’s lungs as she debated how to go about answering the girl’s question. Eventually, she had decided.
”Well…it’s called telepathy and I’ve been able to speak like this since I was young I cannot speak otherwise. You yourself have a magical ability as well it would seem young one,” Fenwe decided to pause as she lowered herself onto the ground to a laying position. This way she’d be a bit more eye level with the child before her as she continued, ”Is one of your parents nearby…or at the very least are they aware you are here?” Her voice held concern in it as did her eyes. She was trying to gauge whether the child had parents or not and if so then she would probably try to make sure they got back home safely at the very least. Who knows perhaps she’d be able to learn about this place by helping this child and if they had parents…maybe also from them.
Telepathy... So she had telepathy too then, right? It made her smile, front paws doing a little tippy tap in excitement. Dad wouldn't get all the cool powers! She could put her voice in his head! Take that! It was so cool and weird at the same time how the lady was able to project her voice and not move her lips at the same time. Roxanne kept staring at the other's mouth, as if she was waiting to spot the tiniest of movement and conclude that it was all a ruse. But the appearance remained the same.
Then they asked if her parents were nearby, and Roxanne knew she had to lie. She adjusted her paws awkwardly - lying to her dad about some stuff was one thing, but trying to convince a stranger of a lie suddenly seemed much more difficult, "Yeah, they're around,"she'd try to say casually. In fact, just for added effect, she'd lick her paw and then begin trying to straighten out the tuft of fur on her head.
"So, what's your name? My name's Roxanne. Everyone has powers here, and my dad can make things float with his mind and make his fur all puffy at will. I wish I had flashy powers like that. Oh! - Do you know Reed Blackpaw? She's this cool wolf with like, gold jewelry and a sword and she can make it float. She promised to teach me how to use it but I haven't seen her in a while." She'll be darned if everyone gets to have cool powers and not her, and now that she's finally discovered she had telepathy, she wanted to practice! "Could you teach me how to use telepathy? Uh, my parents won't mind."
OOC: So sorry for the wait!
Charisma roll is to determine whether her lie was convincing enough or not
