A valley between two mountains with forest and a river. A unique area that fluctuates between various gravity levels, allowing creatures to traverse between the ground and sky. Stars, clouds, and space dust, as well as beautiful trees and flowering plants can be found here
Anyone may join and watch! Could even make it a tournament
Gabriel had chosen cloud bend specifically for it's odd gravity fluxes. An unstable terrain would make a more interesting and unique fight than plain, open land. He would be lying if he said he wasn't glad there was a thunderstorm - the storm had been happening for a bit, but rain had yet to pour, so instead it kept the sky dark, the occasional rumble and bolt of lightning erupting around the land. This, combined with Autumn's general bleakness, made visibility somewhat challenging.
Before even scoping out the land, Gabriel would send out a challenging howl aimed for Urna. Come get me, if you dare. He would then make his way towards the treeline, using the area's lighter gravity to carry him farther and faster, and attempt to hide somewhere in the treeline, awaiting his chance for an ambush. The wolf would keep crouched low, two-toned eyes looking this way and that.

Urna trotted down the trail to the location Gabriel had designated earlier. Her pawpads itched with anticipation. The weather seemed to share her sentiment; the pressure in the air had a dangerous edge to it. She could feel the growl of the storm's thunder in her bones.
Snorting out a puff of air, Urna sent drifting particulates away from her face. Gabriel had chosen this spot well. The eddies of gravitational distortion were concentrated and heightened here. Urna tilted her thick neck side to side experimentally, trying to use her inner ear to suss out the unseen patterns and get used to the dizzying shifts.
Gabriel's howl cut the air, and her dish-like ears swiveled towards the source. Tension straightened the lines of her shoulders and haunches. Urna bounded off in the direction of the challenge. Her nostrils flared and her eyes scanned the shadows as she ran. He's a shapeshifter, she reminded herself. Might not even look like a wolf. A familiar scent caught her attention, and she slowed, search intensifying. There! Behind a cloud of stardust, crouched low in the trees.
So it was like that, then. No terms, no officiation, just action. Her kind of fight. Urna's red eyes gleamed delight, and she whooped a challenge of her own before charging in. "There you are!" she snarled joyfully.
Strike fast, strike hard, don't let him get distance. Cloud Bend leveled the playing field a little between flighted and non-flighted combatants, but Gabriel's bone spurs were nothing to mess with at range, and she didn't fancy the idea of those ram horns at full force, either. Ground him.
Urna felt gravity loosen its clutch on her, and with her next stride, she sprang not forward, but up, towards the underside of a thick tree branch. Her paws met bark and she kicked down, surging from the pocket of low gravity back into a swell of high to come crashing down on Gabriel's position. Her main tentacles on her spine snapped out in search of his paws, seeking to restrain or entangle his limbs.

Ok! First time doing, like, real combat on here so apologies for any missteps!
HP 5/5 (girl why did I not make you tankier help)
Roll 1 is DEXTERITY to see if she can crash onto Gabriel himself for 1 LP. Otherwise, she just lands heavily next to him.
Roll 2 is STRENGTH to see if she can restrain him in some way with her tentacles to keep him from moving. On a failure, she's unable to find or maintain a grip.

As time passes, Gabriel continued to search for his new faux enemy, but he could see nor smell her, until - wait!
Eyes would dart upwards, and at the same time Gabriel would try to dash out the way. But it's too late. Her sudden weight crashes down on him, causing his legs to give out under him. At the same time, Urna's extending tendrils reach to grab for his limbs. So they can extend.
Thinking fast, and with a huff, the brute would do a full 360 degree roll, intending to crush her under his weight - though keeping his neck curled in so that the spikes don't accidentally pierce something vital. During the roll, Gabriel would also curl his limbs in closer to his maw, and use his elongated canines to try and bite as many of the tendrils as he could to free himself. With it being practice, his bites are not as hard as they could be, but he bites just hard enough to hopefully act as a deterrent.
If his attempted bites were successful in freeing himself, the wolf would waste no time in trying to make a break for the cluster of nearby floating rocks, jumps far wider and higher than they would normally be.
"speech."
Gabriel: 6/7HP
I'm pumped for this! Lmk if anything is confusing
Both of Urna's attacks were successful!
Strength: Full roll to try and crush Urna under his weight
Success: Gabriel squishes her and deals -1HP
Fail: Urna avoids the squishing in whatever way
Strength: Gabriel attempts to bite the tendrils holding his appendages to get them off
Success: Urna takes -1HP from the bites and Gabriel is able to run to the small floating islands
Fail: Urna avoids the bites. I think this would require her letting go? Or mb she like, let's go to avoid the bites but then immediately reattaches again

Gabriel ducked into a roll that yanked Urna with it, and she wheezed as his weight knocked the air out of her. Still, her tentacles kept their grip on—"Ow! Shit!" He was biting them. Urna whipped her tentacles free, and the wolf immediately sprang clear.
Shaking out the tingling pain, Urna grimly contemplated her options. Gabriel had won the distance she'd tried to keep from him, and she was already hurting. Bite him bite him bite him, chanted the low and unhelpful part of her brain. Not an option at range. She took in a breath to fuel her fire, the glow in her chest flaring—and paused. There was another magic at her disposal. She admittedly hadn't practiced much with it for projectiles, but hey, what else was a sparring match for? She could hawk a loogie with the best under normal circumstances. Maybe Cloud Bend's gravity would even work in her favor. Banking her flames, Urna instead focused her Will on the chemistry of her venom.
The power uncoiled not in her lungs but in her gut, tingling through her veins and shivering across her skin. Her tentacles rippled like grass in wind, but she directed her Will mouthwards through her throat. Harmless saliva, harmless mucus. Except with a nudge here, an application of Will there, the bitter taste of poison gathered on her tongue. Urna bared her teeth, threw her head back, and spat a gob of magical venom across the space towards Gabriel. Without so much as a pause to see if it landed, she whirled behind the cover of a tree trunk, trying to break his line of sight. Make him come to you.

His beeline towards the floating rocks was a success, but swiveling ears noticed that Urna did not follow. After taking a few more paces just to be sure, he would eventually stop on a more elevated platform and turn around. Just in time, too. two-toned eyes watches as she creates and lobs a glob of something mysterious at him. He tries to dodge it by jumping off the platform, which was barely big enough to fit him in the first place. Cloud Bend's gravity allows him to safely hover in the air, and he takes a moment to readjust his balance. It was too risky to take that hit if he can avoid it - who knows what kind of effects her venom or poison has.
From the corner of his eyes, her figure moves behind the tree lines. Turning to face her, the wolf huffs in amusement. Don't wanna take the bait? Of course she wouldn't.
But he wouldn't either, so he figured it was a good time to really test out the gravity fluxes here. Gabriel begins to swim in the air, paying close attention to the force of gravity as he neared the treeline. He remained high enough in the air that, hopefully, her tentacles couldn't extend so far, but the gravity was stronger the closer he got to the trees, so he swam around.
Still no luck. Well, time to adapt. Still hovering in the open, Gabriel focused on where he thinks he can see her, then shoots out multiple bone spikes from his back, angling them in different directions. With enough skill and luck, at least one will hit her. Then, in a challenging, friendly sort of way, he calls out: "I can do this all day!" even if he misses, eventually he could try again, unless she comes to him.
