"You're playing a dangerous game. I hope you learn quick." Caedwyn opened his mouth to let out a quick retort to her words but before he could, her wings had thrusted downward to the ground, sending the pair of them shooting up in the air a few feet. Wait. He hadn't thought this through. If she went flying up into the air, what would happen if he felt off? He had wings, but he didn't know how to even use them. He had never flown before. Was it just a basic flap-flap-up-and-down thing? or was there some sort of methodology to it? With the thrust of her wings, Caedwyn used his hand-like dragon-paws to grip a little more tightly around the base of her neck. He was trying not to choke her but the jolt of movement may have made his calculations off a bit. Using these claws was a little different as well. His paws slid against the hard slickness of her scales. Her strength dragged him upward, sending his long neck and head flying backward over over his shoulders in an uncontrolled manner. Then just as soon as they'd lunged up, another flap and they were coming back down. His hind end was dragging along limply, catching a little air time between their bodies as he held on for what-seemed-like dear life. Another flap. It felt like her wings were flapping wildly, but were they really? or was he just so caught off guard that it felt like he was riding a bucking bull?

Up. Down. THUD. They hit the ground and Caedwyn went tumbling head-first with his back end doing a summersault over his head as he rolled forward off her back, finally losing his grip around her shoulders. His wings flapped out wildly in all directions, not sure whether to use them to cushion the fall or to try to right himself in a better angle. It was weird having extra appendages! A little cloud of dust went flying up around him with air caught under his wings as he finally landed, bouncing and rolling a few feet in front of Enya. His body was contorted in a rather embarrassing position, though uninjured.

Pausing only for the slightest moment to catch his breath upon impact, Caedwyn then proceeded to let out a deep bellowing laugh. His dragon voice growled and rumbled deeply with each gasp of air as he desperately tried to stop himself from laughing. "Less like a piggy ride and more like a bucking mustang," he managed to wheeze out before he rolled over onto his back. He folded his arms over his chest, curling his long neck up so he could look back at Enya. His wings rested  his chuckling subsiding. "Were you trying to take me for a ride or buck me off? I'm not sure whether to be impressed or not." He said with a teasing voice and giving her a little wink.

Well, Enya had planned to take Caedwyn for a ride up into the sky. What she had planned versus what she had actually done, however, ended up being two vastly different things. Each leap up into the air shook Caedwyn on her back. It made it hard to curve her wings and jump high enough to gain proper altitude with her balance being shuffled. Each time she jumped and flapped, Caedwyn's grip on her grew firmer, his claws digging in to find grip. It was about the third jump that his grip tightened to an uncomfortable point. Ok, so maybe she couldn't fly with him flailing on her back.

Caedwyn's weight shifted and tilted her off balance fully. She flapped her wings and threw out a front limb to catch herself from smacking into the ground. It seemed that Caedwyn didn't fare much better with his dismount. He had been a flurry of wings and limbs as he summersaulted away, landing a short distance in front of her. Enya's own tail had ended up atop her head from the tumble. She blew at the fin as it draped over her head before getting back to her claws and righting herself. She looked onwards at Caedwyn with amusement sparking in her eyes, then laughed along with him as he rolled over onto his back. It was the first time she'd laughed in this form and it felt unnatural, yet satisfying, as she felt her voicebox rumbling. "Haven't you learned already? You should always be impressed by me, no matter the results."

Enya moved forward and lowered her muzzle down to Caedwyn's long neck, nipping at it playfully in the same spot that his claws had dug into hers. "You know, I was trying to give you a piggy-back ride, but it's impossible to take off when you're flailing like a fledgling on my back." Enya inhaled deeply, enjoying both the fresh air and Caedwyn's scent filling her lungs, then exhaled as a controlled frost washed across Caedwyn's chest. Her long neck withdrew as she pulled it back into a natural arch, her fans laid loose along her spine.

"Come, let me show you." She was determined to show Caedwyn what it was like to fly high up into the sky. "It will come naturally once you understand the basics. Mimic me, and you'll be in the air in no time." Enya reached out a claw'd front limb to help Caedwyn back to his feet, then stepped backwards to give the two of them distance (as much as she didn't want to). Once Caedwyn was in position, she crouched once, twice, both to stretch and prepare for the leap. "You can either take off from a stand, or you can do a dragon dash forward to gain momentum. Dragon dashing into flight is usually easier, but requires space. Lucky us, we have plenty of space." She then extended her wings fully and raised them upwards, each of them held at a curved angle. "Make sure your wings aren't flat. If they're flat, they won't catch the wind properly. You always want to have an arc in your wings while you're rising. Once you're ready to glide, you can flatten them to ride the currents, but that's a sensation that's hard to explain without ever experiencing it." Even as Enya explained the logic of flight as a dragon, she wondered where this knowledge came from. Was it a piece her Will had stolen from the beast she had copied her morph from? "When you feel the burning in your chest muscles, you know you're using your wings properly. Now, are you ready?" Enya didn't wait for his confirmation. She was sure he was ready, just like she had been sure he could successfully mimic her magic.

Her body coiled and Enya sprung forward, her wings beating downwards towards the ground. With each step of her dash her wings beat up and down. After a few seconds, she was skywards, twisting and twirling as she took flight. She turned her head to search for Caedwyn and with a unladylike landing, she settled down near him. It was simply a quick up and down demonstration of take-off and subsequent landing (which was arguably the more important part to learn!). "Alright, my Marrow. You're turn."

Caedwyn smiled when Enya gave him a retort but his motion stilled when she came close and nipped at his neck playfully. It was like feeling something for the first time, with this new body. He stilled when she took a long breath in and let out a frosty breath across his chest. The icy breath left a frozen sheen across his scales giving them a crystal shine under the moonlight. It sent a shiver of sensation down his body from the sudden chill. She moved away, extending her paw to him and he accepted the embrace, rolling over so he was no longer on his back. He remained lying down, watching her as she started explaining the mechanics of flight. His eyes followed her movements. It all seemed rather complicated. Something about curving the wings, but then straightening them out, and doing something called a dragon dash. It was intriguing but Caedwyn admitted he was much too caught up in the novelty of the situation to follow exactly what she was saying. Instead he was listening to the roll of her voice. There was a femininity in it, where her true voice seemed to come through. But was blanketed in the powerful tones of the dragon, like the sound of a far off thunder echoing past a distant mountain range.

"When you feel the burning in your chest muscles, —" she was explaining. He smirked as she finished her sentence, muttering a teasing comment. "Oh it's burning alright," he said, somewhat under his breath. He wasn't sure if she had heard it or not, because she hadn't even waited for him to reply before springing up into the air. His head jerked after her, tracking her movements. She had zoomed into the sky, done a twist, and then plummeted back down beside him. He couldn't help but let a huge grin come to his maw. Of course she would make it look easy!

"Alright, my Marrow. You're turn."

"Shall we dance, my Marrow?" he said coyly in return, his eyes setting on her for a moment before jumping to his feet. He leaped forward, charging into a run across the clearing before taking a few leaps higher and higher until the air seemed to catch under his wings. It wasn't graceful or pretty, and his paws slammed unevenly against the earth as he tried to push himself into the air. His wings flapped hard, sounding like a swath of cloth catching against the wind. He didn't quite know to tuck his legs under him yet, instead moving his legs like he was running in the air as he finally became airborne. Wings thrusted downward, sending him up, up, up. His head looked above, eyes gazing up at the moon overhead as he pushed higher and higher. He could feel the burning now that she mentioned. His muscles burned and his throat felt hot from the exertion of his breath. Finally, it almost felt like too much and his flapping stopped.

As his ascent slowed, he seemed to almost hang in the air before gravity started to pull him down again. It was a strange and magical feeling, almost like being weightless. He turned his head downward, eyes searching for Enya. He'd pushed so quickly upward that he'd lost track of her. Somehow, he knew how to turn himself. He angled himself downward, tucking his wings in like she'd said and he dove down toward the ground again. Faster. Faster. The ground was coming up to meet him. He was moving quickly, the wind biting at his face from the speed. Until suddenly at the last moment, he unfurled his wings once more. He arched his back, his neck curving up toward the sky again, pulling his body along behind it as he made dip back up into the air.

But this time, he let himself float. The timing of each wingbeat slowly improved as he looked around. How could he have thought he was ready for this? The wind and the air surrounding him. It wasn't describable. Was this what she felt each time she took to the skies? He wondered how Enya resisted remaining in her dragon form forever. To feel the sky... to feel weightless. It was entrancing.

"Enya!" he called out to her joyfully, as he levelled out into a glide, circling around the upper portion of the cave that opened to the sky. His head swiveled finally landing on her form. He wasn't sure exactly what he was doing, but he swooped over towards her, coming in close. Of course he wasn't exactly an experienced flyer, so he may have unintentionally disrupted her flight pattern. But no matter. He swooped in, throwing his head over toward her he swipe his neck across hers in a gentle touch before pushing off again (he wasn't skilled enough yet to continue flying that close without their wings colliding).

The toothy grin that Caedwyn's dragon form offered her an insight ino how much he was enjoying this experience. She watched as he leapt forward, performing a quite impressive dragon dash for his first time, and took to the sky. For his first time taking off as a dragon, Enya thought he did quite well. It had taken her a considerable amount of practice and attempts before she could take flight easily. Her teal gaze watched him as he flapped higher and higher up into the sky. Part of her wished to take off after him. She wanted to show him what flying could really feel like. And yet, she remained grounded in her stance. She smiled as she watched his dark figure fade in and out of focus against the night sky, underneath Her watchful eye. "I knew you could do it." she muttered to herself. Caedwyn was too far to hear her. "My Marrow, my heart. She has blessed me with an opportunity, and you were the one who made me realize it. Look at you go. How am I possibly so lucky?"

With a coiled leap skywards, Enya's wings flared out and beat downwards with powerful strokes. Her tail curled beneath her, swinging to help her maintain balance as she flew higher. With a careful flick, her fin on her tail expanded into a fan, she was able to start some forward momentum. She angled her wings, feeling the ache in her chest and shoulders from muscles that have gone long unused, and propelled herself skywards faster. She had made it to a decent altitude when she saw Caedwyn's wings close against his sides. Panic flared within her as she realized what he was doing. Free falling was further along in the flying lessons she had planned.

She moved quickly, gracefully, through the sky as her wings flashed their teal and red colors against the bright moon. As he fell, Enya raced towards him. When he surpassed her altitude and dropped lower, she closed her own wings to her sides. She matched him as he fell and watched him carefully. If the ground came too quickly, she would either try to catch him with magic or with claw - whichever ended up more successful.

Thankfully, neither option needed to be used. Caedwyn unfurled his wings, a sudden snap echoing as they caught wind and he turned himself in a fluid arc. Her own wings had snapped open a second after his had. She had angled hers in a way where when she slowed, she was leaned backwards slightly with her tail out front, carrying her momentum until she fell into a hover. He called for her and Enya lifted her jaw, shooting a small burst of steam to grab his attention. When he closed the distance between them, she kept herself hovering in place. His embrace was welcomed and was (of course) followed up with her nipping at his neck once more.

"Not bad for a first time. I would have preferred you waited a bit longer on the free fall, but you executed it without flaw." Enya tried to time the beating of her wings with Caedwyns, but found that hers was slightly faster due to her smaller size. "Caedwyn." she began, excitement evident in her body and tone. "Isn't this amazing? There's nothing like it. But, you haven't seen the best part yet. Free Falling is wonderful, but wait until you touch the stars." Her body shivered even as she said the words touch the stars. She didn't mean it in a literal sense, but it certainly felt magical as the oxygen thinned out and as the air grew cold and chilling. "Come on, my love. Fly with me" She reached out a wing to gently, playfully, brush against one of his, flung her tail in his direction, then flapped hard to gain altitude. She didn't race ahead of him, however. Instead she lingered nearby. She wanted to fly with him, not ahead of or behind him.

The two of them flew higher and higher, passing through clouds and into the thinner atmosphere. As they flew higher, Enya grew more and more excited as the reality of the situation hit her. No one had ever been able to match her powers. She had never been able to share this experience with anyone else before. She'd flown as a dragon with her previous mates before, but it wasn't the same. They hadn't flown with her. Her teal eye shifted from the sky to look at her mate beside her. Her mate. He was hers alone, and no one else's. She felt her heart swell both with greed and pride.

Higher they flew, higher and higher until it grew hard to breathe out, and harder to breathe in. Her chest and shoulders burned with how hard her wings beat against the air, which grew less and less dense, which made it harder and harder to gain altitude. She squinted her eyes against the wind as it rushed past her. It was unnecessary, a habit from being a mammal most of the time and did effectively nothing to aid her. "Caedwyn!" she shouted past the thin air, feeling her lungs beg for the thicker air of the lower altitudes, "We have touched the stars. Now we freefall, my love." She flicked out her wings to catch her in a momentary float, smiled and laughed, feeling giddy with excitement, then tilted herself backwards to turn into an arrow aimed straight at the ground. As she fell, she reached out her limbs, reaching for Caedwyn. "Embrace me" she challenged, shouting it as the winds rushed past them, as they plummeted downwards.

"Not bad for a first time. I would have preferred you waited a bit longer on the free fall, but you executed it without flaw." He wanted to wag his tail at her words but with only one unintended wag, the movement of his long dragon-tail sent him careening off course. With a jerk he moved his tail the other way, quickly jerking back on course as he followed Enya through the air. He wanted to let out a teasing comment about how "of course he'd be good at flying" but he was instead left breathless and wordless as she flew beside him. Was it the effort of taking in air to keep aloft? Was it the pounding of his heart? The excitement of the moment? He wasn't sure, and instead he watched as she started to rise up through the air, higher and higher. His eyes looked up to the sky above when she mentioned the stars. The sky was a brilliant shade of dark blue and the full moon shone bright overhead. He watched as the moonlight wrapped Enya's form in a soft glow as she beckoned him to fly with her.

He obeyed. His wings giving a thrust downward to send him shooting up after her, chasing her up farther and farther toward the heavens. The air was much colder here than down below. He hadn't even considered how cold. It sent a shiver through his body and the thin icy air bit as his face and lungs as he tried to breath. She was still going higher. He pushed against the urge to turn back and chased her. He wasn't going to let her leave him behind. He pushed higher, until it felt like the earth was far behind and they were one with the stars. Suddenly, Enya called out to him again. He barely had time to realize what her words meant before she had stopped midair - but only for a moment - before he watched as she tilted back and began to soar back toward the ground.

A grin moved across his face. Wasn't she just saying a moment ago how she'd wished he'd waited before free-falling? And now here she was, making him chase after her as she fell to the ground. But when his eyes landed on her, seeing her dragon-arms reach out for him and her words "embrace me" met his ears, he didn't even need to think about it. With a surprising force, he flapped his wings with all his force to chase after her. His head tilted down and wings flapped a few times to gather speed before tucking in tightly. His own arms began to outstretch for hers as he came up under her - belly to belly. They were going so fast, but his eyes were on her - not the ground.

His long taloned paw opened, quickly interlocking with hers before he pulled in close to her. His other paws found hers and all four of their legs were gripped together. "I've got you," he said in return as he pulled her close. He turned his neck, pushing his head against hers. He wasn't sure what he was supposed to do next or how they were supposed to land like this. It was his first time flying after all. But he wasn't exactly thinking about all that right now. "Don't let me go." his heart called out. Not because he was afraid of falling, but because he didn't want the moment to end.

"I've got you" he rumbled in his draconic tone to her as he reached out and took her claws between his. She wasted no time in pulling Caedwyn in closer to her as he reached his neck and pushed his head against her own. She locked the small horn on her nose under his chin, not to harm him, but instead to help secure her hold on him. In that moment, she heard him whisper faintly, 'Don't let me go.'. The moment she heard the phrase, she made an effort to pull Caedwyn in yet closer to her, belly to belly, and let her wings slip around him as they fell together.

Instincts screamed at her to pay attention to the ground they were plummeting towards. They screamed, but they were not loud enough for Enya to hear or care. She had dreamed of sharing this experience with her mates for years at this point. She had dreamed and she had waited, and while her prior mates had let her down, Caedwyn had rose up to the challenge and surpassed it. 'You are the one' she thought to herself as they fell entwined together through the night sky under Tsillah's watchful eye. 'You were there in front of me all along, and fate has finally showed me why.'

The wind streaked past the two, flowing easily by them as their scales resisted the drag it normally presented. Subconsciously, Enya noticed the air growing more dense as they plummeted down to the earth. "Caedwyn" she rumbled, knowing he could hear her even as the wind whipped and whistled past, "Will you do one last thing for me tonight?" A touch of nervousness hit her, but she powered through and asked Caedwyn anyways, "Take me, beneath Her gaze."

She didn't have time to hear his response as she became acutely aware that tree tops were now coming into view in her peripherals. They were getting dangerously close to the ground. She fought the reluctance she felt of letting him go and did so, pulling her wings away and untangling herself from his grasp. With a last second shove, she pushed herself away from Caedwyn and (more importantly), tried to push Caedwyn to give him extra time to catch himself from crashing into the earth. Failing could be detrimental. Her wings snapped open and with a quick twist of her body, she flared them out to try and swoop back upwards with the momentum instead of crashing.

Roll 1: Strength check to see if Enya pushes Caed enough to buy him extra time (+1 to next roll)
Success: Shoves him away in a good enough angle to buy him an extra second
Failure: Shoves him away but not at a good angle

Roll 2: Dex check to see if she can stop from splatting into the ground
Success: Twists in the air and uses momentum to catch herself and angle back upwards
Failure: Twists in the air but her wings dont catch and she smashes into the ground. -8HP
