Father's sudden shift in demeanor alerted her to the presence of another faster than actually hearing their footsteps. She, too, thought it was the lizards at first, and she didn't mind when he moved to stand above her... Actually, she did mind! No way was she going to let some reptile bully her, especially now that father was here! She stood to face the approaching creature defiantly, only to immediately weaken her guard when she realized it wasn't the lizard.
It was a wolf! And she looked so pretty! Father wears gold jewelry too, but she never saw him wear gold thingies on his arms! And her hair was so unique, nothing like the tufts and mohawks they had. Roxanne smiles, taking the stranger's kindness at face value and already seeing a potential friend in her. “Oh, I'm--” but she's caught off before she could even say anything by her father, and she can't help but to give him a grumpy look for speaking for her. After he asked the woman if she'd seen the lizards, Roxanne felt she had a chance to speak again, “They look like regular lizards, but with bright spots! And it multiplies -- there was one, then a bunch of them! And they scream really loudly.” Reliving the moment of running away from them, and explaining what they look like (albeit very vaguely), made her feel embarrassed she was ever scared in the first place. It was just a lizard! Wasn't even that big either...
