Reed, ever the optimistic and kind wolf, completely ignored the thrashing tail, the look of disgust and the overall I don't want to deal with you attitude of the wolf before her. She saw none of it. After all, she was Reed Blackpaw, friend to everyone and enemy to monsters! Monsters like that one wolf, the only thing she could remember, who was green with glowing yellow eyes. When the stranger's eyes shifted from her out to the ocean, to the spot that she had managed to miraculously swim up from, she followed his gaze. What he shared with her was not what she had been hoping for. It had been there for as long as he could remember, he said. Well... that didn't explain how she had ended up in the ruins of the ship. Instead of providing answers, it just gave her more questions. Luckily, he had asked his own questions of her. It was enough to deviate her wondering mind. But just as he asked them, he turned away to start walking off again.
Why couldn't he just stand still and have a conversation with her?
Now determined to keep him nearby to answer her questions, she moved forward with him, determination evident in her stride. "No, I'm not a treasure hunter... I don't think" she answered after a thoughtful second. Or maybe she was? Maybe that's why she had been deep down in the ocean? But that seemed silly. She couldn't swim. Why or how could she get get out there so deep down without suffocating? Or a better question, why had she awakened there? "Where am I?" she asked the stranger, shifting the topic to the here and now, instead of the there and was. "Who are you?"
