He had always hated the cold, and yet somehow their kingdom had claimed lands that were affected by the cold in the winter. He could only tolerate so much weather before he yearned for some place warmer. Surely a journey over to the falls wouldn't leave the Kingdom in disarray? Besides, patrolling the border territories frequently was part of his duties. So the male found himself off in the Great Falls, where the weather was a much preferred condition. It was cool, but the warm waters and humid air prevented any sort of frost or snow. Caedwyn smiled as he trotted along through the thick forest, pleased at his own brilliance of choosing this territory for his patrol. His mind was shouting No Snow! No Snow! as he walked. Coming through the leaves, he could hear water bubbling ahead. A stream. This place was full of them. His steps halted as he emerged and caught sight of another being on the far shore ahead of hit. Unmistakeable red-hued fur and a lighter ring by her throat. "Ixora." He hadn't meant to say it aloud, but the surprise had left him in shock. How long had it been since he'd heard her name? And how much longer since he'd seen her. He wasn't even sure if she as alive all this time. His body was trembling with an overwhelming feeling. Why was he feeling this way? Desperate? Like the whole encounter was about to slip out of his grasp. It wasn't like he was even close with her. And yet... His paws started to move without his permission as he entered the water and began to wade across. There seemed to be a gold light coming from the water around where she stood. It felt like he was walking into a memory of his past. "Ixora!" he called out louder this time, his voice shaking. It felt like at any moment the current would suck him under and she'd be gone when he emerged again. Coming up to the shallow water, he waded out, his pelt completely soaked as he stood dripping on the shore, not bothering to shake the water. "Is it really you?" --- Speech. |
Great Falls
Two rivers flow over a series of cliffs into a massive lake and water system. Jungle and tropical foliage surround the waterfalls. The sound of the falls can be heard from far around and a thick mist hangs in the air.
