The young she-wolf pup cried into the stranger’s fur until she couldn’t produce any more tears. She felt spent. Her small chocolate and cream-colored body began to feel heavy. The stranger’s fur was slick and wet and smelled slightly of salt from the seawater they more commonly traversed. Despite the dampness, Isara felt safe with this stranger’s presence. She could feel him lapping at her fur, reminding her of her mother. Her mother would clean her similar to this. Granted her mother was much more graceful at it and she didn’t produce a weird internal noise that vibrated throughout her body. Honestly, that was the weirdest thing that Isara had found in all of this. Little Isara had never experienced such a phenomenon in her short little life and it intrigued her so. It was different, interesting, and yet also soothing. After she took the time to calm down, Isara eventually attempted to see if she could somehow make the sound as well.
With heavy eyes, the little girl gave her first attempt and didn’t even make it out of her throat before she lost control of the sound. She then tried a second time and again she utterly failed to produce the sound. Once more Isara figured she would try but instead of producing the internal vibrating purr she instead let out some sort of strangulated low toned whine.
”Why can’t I do it?” She wondered as she listened again to his purring, completely unaware of what he was thinking about. She did however notice he seemed to be lost in thought. ”Laik yu ait?” Concern filled her facial features as she looked at the stranger as she pulled away from the stranger, ”Chit’s skechi?”
