Muddy River
A wide ravine where a shallow, gentle river flows. Years of drought and silt deposits have built this area into a fertile delta. The river remains low and dry most of the year, staining its waters brown and creating muddy shores.

The boasting that Quinnat let off at first made Reed's smile grow larger. She loved praising others, loved it more when they appreciated her praises. Then the truth came out, and Reed's amazed look remained, as did her opinion of him. Trapping prey was just as hard, if not harder, than hunting it with more traditional means. It means knowing how to make the traps and set the traps and then remember to check the traps. If he had managed to stash it and it was left alone for a good portion of the day, then it also meant he knew how to secure food as well from other's prying noses.

"Still signs of a spectacular hunter" she muttered with a smile before she lowered her muzzle to open the muskrat and pick at the meat. As Quinnat settled down into a lay, Reed followed along with the muskrat held between her two front paws. When he declared the story he wanted to hear, Reed made a giddy excited noise. She quickly swallowed down the bite of meat she'd taken. "Oh, this one is my favorite! Ok ok ok." She took another bite of the meal, chewed, swallowed, and then cleared her throat. It was notable that when she spoke next, her voice was different. Deeper, and yet somehow sounded louder, like it was being spoken with surround sound. "It was a bright, early morning with the sun just risin' over the surface of the waters. There I was, watchin' the sun come up and lookin' for my pa, when suddenly I heard a cry for help! I wasn't a practiced pirate, but more like a young welp with fresh sea legs. That didn't stop me, though. Someone needed help, and I was there to save them. Though, I didn't expect to see what I saw..."

Reed's voice grew lower, fell to a murmured level and yet was still easy to hear with her magic enhancing the story. "Crawlin' from the depths of the sea was a monster unlike anything I'd ever seen before. It was huge, with bright glowing spots that flashed wild colors as it attacked. It looked like some strange flesh beast at first, until I saw it reach it's tentacles out in an attack." Then, as Reed's voice suddenly grew more intense, her tone raised with excitement, "I sprung into action, fast as the winds would carry me! I drew my cutlass and jumped forward with my attack. The Kraken squealed as it lashed out at me, whipping huge grotesque tentacles around all through the air! One of them grabbed me by the leg and started to pull me in. This was it, I thought. This was the end of my story already." She paused for dramatic effect and to build suspense, "Then came Balthazar, charging into the fight! He'd been the one yellin' for help, yet he ended up helpin' me instead! The two of us tangled with the Kraken and eventually chased it back into the waters together. That's where I met my best friend, that's why it's my favorite story." With her story ended, she dug into her meal further before casually adding "That's who I'm out lookin' for."

Dice Roll for Funsies

Siren Song: Determines how good Reed is at telling her story
Success: Reed does a great job with putting emphasis and pauses in the right spots and her magic enhances her voice
Failure: Reed's attempts at using her magic to aid her story falls flat. Her voice is hard to hear and her inflictions are off
