Ida often dreamed; this may have been the first in a long while in which she slept without doing so. Without such, her sleep was deep and peaceful, and likely not to end naturally any time soon. The key word being naturally.
It was only a strange pinching at her shoulder that finally roused her, and even so it was a slow going process. At first a hind leg raised sloppily to scratch at whatever biting insect she assumed had landed on her, but she hadn't even made it halfway before deciding that the insect had won and that she was too tired to chase it off. She dropped her leg and sighed sleepily, but the strange pinch only intensified, and unwillingly her mind was dragged back to consciousness as the pinching slowly became more recognizable as not a biting, but a prodding.
A low growl rumbled from her chest as she cracked a beady eye open and was immediately blinded with white, hissing then in surprise. When had she fallen asleep again? She'd been in the grasslands, and then it had been raining...
Bared fangs and clashing mandibles flashed through her mind, and on instinct she shoved herself off the snow and scrambled clumsily to her paws. She snarled, squinting her eyes against the bright landscape and swinging her head back and forth with an irritable snap of her jaws. She nearly tripped over the slush which had melted beneath her belly, thick pelt bristling as slowly her eyes adjusted to the light.
"Wherishe?!" Ida practically roared, spinning around until through her blurry vision, something dark caught her eyes. She blinked rapidly, muzzle wrinkling to bare her blocky fangs as she faced her opponent again.
Except, this wolf certainly wasn't him. Her snarl faltered, and her pale eyes widened in surprise as the sight of the stranger slowly came into focus. She stood still, shoulders squared and hackles raised, but not moving to attack. Instead, she looked around again and finally noticed that this was certainly not the grasslands.
"The hell am I?" Ida said, aggression quickly fading to be replaced with perplexment as she looked again at the new wolf.

Dice roll: Dex
Success: Ida manages to catch the twig in her jaws and splinter it as she's waking up.
Fail: Ida misses the stick, she snaps at open air.
