"Try shaking your coat a bit. It helps keep that stuff out--" Eons ears perked at the suggestion, immediately doing so - though it didn't help much. The sand only seemed to be growing heavier as the seconds ticked by.
"Did you hear that noise? Earlier I mean....Maybe it was just a passing snake," Eon would give a nod. "A snake, yeah." He wasn't sure he believed it but wanted to remain optimistic.
"Ours comes from the deliverance of our God, he helps us in our times of need. He gifted our family with telekinesis, which we use daily. Just as it sounds your Goddess is a helpful one as well." He'd nod. He wasn't sure Gatlin completely understood the depth of Tsillah. She wasn't a helpful goddess - quite the opposite, actually. She tested the will of her followers, giving them challenges to persevere and learn from. If this had been a different circumstance, Eon might have corrected him, but he now finds it more beneficial to save his breath. He had a feeling Tsillah was going to test him very soon.
And.... there it was. "Hah! It was a snake. Are you sure you're not secretly psychic, too?" Gatlin seemed to take the situation much more seriously, running straight toward the snake and aiming for a powerful blow to its head. "I - I wouldn't..." Eon watched as the land missed, and large fangs sunk into Gatlin's hip... Shit. He had to think fast.
Spreading his wings, the small wolf flew into the air, aiming to be close enough to attract the snake's attention while remaining just out of grasp. He'd also hover a bunch of lights around him, trying everything he could to keep the snake's eyes on him. "I'll distract it - you, attack." It made the most sense this way. Regrettably, Gatlin could hit a much heavier blow than he could, but he was learning that didn't make him completely useless in battle. He just had to be smart about it.
