The red wolf took another cautious step back at the appearance of the tree-climber. If they could get out of this without a fight, it would be the most optimal situation; their ears tugged back against their head. They didn't like that the other was angled above them, distinctly in a position of advantage and fully capable of simply nabbing their catch and darting off if they wanted. Lahwa didn't like assuming the worst of others but when presented with their own smaller size, many of the forest's predators tended to deem it worth the risk of potential retaliation.
Luckily it seemed that the other wolf-like creature didn't appear to be hostile - for now.
"Hunting," she informed the other, electing to be honest. "Before it gets too hot to hunt."
