Telepathy... So she had telepathy too then, right? It made her smile, front paws doing a little tippy tap in excitement. Dad wouldn't get all the cool powers! She could put her voice in his head! Take that! It was so cool and weird at the same time how the lady was able to project her voice and not move her lips at the same time. Roxanne kept staring at the other's mouth, as if she was waiting to spot the tiniest of movement and conclude that it was all a ruse. But the appearance remained the same.
Then they asked if her parents were nearby, and Roxanne knew she had to lie. She adjusted her paws awkwardly - lying to her dad about some stuff was one thing, but trying to convince a stranger of a lie suddenly seemed much more difficult, "Yeah, they're around," she'd try to say casually. In fact, just for added effect, she'd lick her paw and then begin trying to straighten out the tuft of fur on her head.
"So, what's your name? My name's Roxanne. Everyone has powers here, and my dad can make things float with his mind and make his fur all puffy at will. I wish I had flashy powers like that.
