TEon continued to walk beside Gatlin, doing his best to ignore this horrible weather. He gave a silent prayer to Tsillah it could clear, though he also knew the goddess liked to test her devotees. This could be another test. There was no way she would make finding the bones easy for him. His ears perked as he listened to the larger wolf; the conversation was a good distraction from how disgusted he felt with so much sand and dust in his fur. He knew this was a challenge from Tsillah, but he could not wait until it was all over and he could head home, bones in his bag, curl up, and sleep in the safety of his den. It then dawned on him just how far the way home was, too. Even after he had found the bones, he would have to travel back on his wings… ugh. His wings started to ache again at the thought.
"So these powers, they're kinda like my telekinesis, right? Personally we need to learn more about this stuff. My family is very new to this land..whatever it's called. We wanna find a safer place for the herd. Here hasnt been the best." So Gatlin was new to Argaia then? He had heard of creatures randomly waking up in these lands, perhaps thats what had happened to Gatlin and his family, or maybe they had recently traveled here. It didn’t matter either way, what mattered was he didn’t know how magic worked here, and Eon was happy to answer his questions.
“Yes, the magic used in this land comes from within. Each soul carries with it a divine will. This will manifests as magic powers within each of us. I have seen many different abilities in my time, and I’d assume your telekinesis works the same.” He’d speak, continuing to march forward. It was then he noticed the first bit of rattling. It was quiet and distant, but the sound still sent shivers down his spine. He felt himself stiffen slightly, which reduced his pace even further. It sounded like a warning, telling them to turn around and flee. Still, he knew Tsillah would frown upon that decision. He had to remain strong and find the bones, no matter what challenges he may have to face along the way. At least, they sounded distant, for now. They still had a bit before whatever produced the noise found them.
"So you're Goddess, shes going to help your magic with the wings? What kind do you have? Our God is more of a Christian one. But I love learning of new things and religion.” Gatlin continued to speak, and Eon would respond, though he was on high alert for any more noises. “Tsillah is the goddess of death and rebirth. She tests us and our wills, keeping it strong so we may prevent the akrasia from happening or weakening of the force that flows through all of life. We must remain strong to prevent disaster from occurring and destroying our world. I have been blessed with visions to communicate with Tsillah and see into the future, though I also have a few other powers.” Without giving him time to explain his magic, the rattling occurred again, this time a lot louder and closer. Eon froze in his tracks. There was no point in asking if Gatlin had heard it, too, as the low rumbling shook the ground like thunder from just beyond their visibility.
