Slowly time seemed to tick by as Fenwe waited for her company to present themselves. Was it a child and if so why were they out here…alone? Were they an orphan? Were they and their family displaced from their homeland? Had something terrible happened to them? Her thoughts ran rampant as she remembered scenes from her home before leaving — the scattered bodies. The scent of blood permeated through the air - clinging to every molecule so thickly that it seemed like it hung from every physical surface. Even now she still smelled blood… Leaves rustled in the underbrush, bringing Fenwe’s attention back to the present situation. Pink-hued irises stared at the location as she watched the other present cautiously reveal themself. Their fur was various hues of pink and purple, similar to some of Fenwe’s hues. However, their body was that of a feline…not a lupin. The she-wolf inspected them as they became more visible. First off, they were considerably smaller. Now Fenwe wasn’t all too aware of feline body structure or conditioning..but she was judging this a child…and a rather skinny one at that. Mild concern filled her face as she took in every curve and bump from this young one’s frame. The poor thing also looked disheveled and scared -ready to jump at a moment’s notice with the wings that she had outstretched. Although, perhaps the fear was due to Fenwe herself. It was wholly possible. Next to her, Fenwe nearly seemed like a giant from the little thing’s perspective she presumed. ’Hello’ the young girl’s voice shyly rang out against the white noise of the forest and a soft and kind smile grew on the she-wolf’s muzzle. ”Hello,” Fenwe responded kindly, Her own magenta-colored eyes now making contact with the young one’s own yellow eyes. When the poor thing spoke again at first Fenwe thought she was just asking how she was, but before she could even formulate an answer she realized that the girl paused and had asked about her telepathy. Was she not aware of magic? Was magic not common here? Where was here even? A sigh left Fenwe’s lungs as she debated how to go about answering the girl’s question. Eventually, she had decided. ”Well…it’s called telepathy and I’ve been able to speak like this since I was young I cannot speak otherwise. You yourself have a magical ability as well it would seem young one,” Fenwe decided to pause as she lowered herself onto the ground to a laying position. This way she’d be a bit more eye level with the child before her as she continued, ”Is one of your parents nearby…or at the very least are they aware you are here?” Her voice held concern in it as did her eyes. She was trying to gauge whether the child had parents or not and if so then she would probably try to make sure they got back home safely at the very least. Who knows perhaps she’d be able to learn about this place by helping this child and if they had parents…maybe also from them. |
Tall Trees
A redwood and sequoia forest of immense size. Enormous trees grow toward the sky with interlocking branches that become like roads up in the air. Like the trees, the creatures here are of unnatural, giant size and mysterious voices seem to echo through the trees.
