The toothy grin that Caedwyn's dragon form offered her an insight ino how much he was enjoying this experience. She watched as he leapt forward, performing a quite impressive dragon dash for his first time, and took to the sky. For his first time taking off as a dragon, Enya thought he did quite well. It had taken her a considerable amount of practice and attempts before she could take flight easily. Her teal gaze watched him as he flapped higher and higher up into the sky. Part of her wished to take off after him. She wanted to show him what flying could really feel like. And yet, she remained grounded in her stance. She smiled as she watched his dark figure fade in and out of focus against the night sky, underneath Her watchful eye. "I knew you could do it." she muttered to herself. Caedwyn was too far to hear her. "My Marrow, my heart. She has blessed me with an opportunity, and you were the one who made me realize it. Look at you go. How am I possibly so lucky?" With a coiled leap skywards, Enya's wings flared out and beat downwards with powerful strokes. Her tail curled beneath her, swinging to help her maintain balance as she flew higher. With a careful flick, her fin on her tail expanded into a fan, she was able to start some forward momentum. She angled her wings, feeling the ache in her chest and shoulders from muscles that have gone long unused, and propelled herself skywards faster. She had made it to a decent altitude when she saw Caedwyn's wings close against his sides. Panic flared within her as she realized what he was doing. Free falling was further along in the flying lessons she had planned. She moved quickly, gracefully, through the sky as her wings flashed their teal and red colors against the bright moon. As he fell, Enya raced towards him. When he surpassed her altitude and dropped lower, she closed her own wings to her sides. She matched him as he fell and watched him carefully. If the ground came too quickly, she would either try to catch him with magic or with claw - whichever ended up more successful. Thankfully, neither option needed to be used. Caedwyn unfurled his wings, a sudden snap echoing as they caught wind and he turned himself in a fluid arc. Her own wings had snapped open a second after his had. She had angled hers in a way where when she slowed, she was leaned backwards slightly with her tail out front, carrying her momentum until she fell into a hover. He called for her and Enya lifted her jaw, shooting a small burst of steam to grab his attention. When he closed the distance between them, she kept herself hovering in place. His embrace was welcomed and was (of course) followed up with her nipping at his neck once more. "Not bad for a first time. I would have preferred you waited a bit longer on the free fall, but you executed it without flaw." Enya tried to time the beating of her wings with Caedwyns, but found that hers was slightly faster due to her smaller size. "Caedwyn." she began, excitement evident in her body and tone. "Isn't this amazing? There's nothing like it. But, you haven't seen the best part yet. Free Falling is wonderful, but wait until you touch the stars." Her body shivered even as she said the words touch the stars. She didn't mean it in a literal sense, but it certainly felt magical as the oxygen thinned out and as the air grew cold and chilling. "Come on, my love. Fly with me" She reached out a wing to gently, playfully, brush against one of his, flung her tail in his direction, then flapped hard to gain altitude. She didn't race ahead of him, however. Instead she lingered nearby. She wanted to fly with him, not ahead of or behind him. The two of them flew higher and higher, passing through clouds and into the thinner atmosphere. As they flew higher, Enya grew more and more excited as the reality of the situation hit her. No one had ever been able to match her powers. She had never been able to share this experience with anyone else before. She'd flown as a dragon with her previous mates before, but it wasn't the same. They hadn't flown with her. Her teal eye shifted from the sky to look at her mate beside her. Her mate. He was hers alone, and no one else's. She felt her heart swell both with greed and pride. Higher they flew, higher and higher until it grew hard to breathe out, and harder to breathe in. Her chest and shoulders burned with how hard her wings beat against the air, which grew less and less dense, which made it harder and harder to gain altitude. She squinted her eyes against the wind as it rushed past her. It was unnecessary, a habit from being a mammal most of the time and did effectively nothing to aid her. "Caedwyn!" she shouted past the thin air, feeling her lungs beg for the thicker air of the lower altitudes, "We have touched the stars. Now we freefall, my love." She flicked out her wings to catch her in a momentary float, smiled and laughed, feeling giddy with excitement, then tilted herself backwards to turn into an arrow aimed straight at the ground. As she fell, she reached out her limbs, reaching for Caedwyn. "Embrace me" she challenged, shouting it as the winds rushed past them, as they plummeted downwards. "Speech." |
Sinkhole Abyss
A giant cave system that stretches deep underground, formed by an ancient sinkhole. The cave is like a honeycomb, with layer upon layer going deeper and large openings to the sky above.
