Hot Springs
A thermal hot spring surrounded by miles of open tundra and taiga. Located on a mostly barren island, the hot springs are known for their healing and magical waters. Warm geysers shoot out from cracks in the ice and rocky pools of warm water can be found here.

The tendon in her mouth rips like Velcro under her jaws; the sensation is an odd vibration in her mouth. The moose stumbles and looses its balance as the flesh rips away. It's first tendon has been ripped away making movement harder for the moose. 

In panic, the moose kicks wildly trying to dislodge Maureen with a strong kick from it's other leg. "That's it! Hang on tight tuh it!"  Oh no, she had no thought to let that great moose go, if she could make it harder to move she was going to do just that! 

The ground below them starts to vibrate, the sensation taking a small bit away from Maureen's focus, but she narrowed her eyes and ignores it, the spell not fully taking effect. Ida leaps forwards in a great roar, the snow scattering out of the way as her mandibles clamp around the mooses' neck tightly, bringing it towards the ground. 

"Good if it can not move, it can not fight us back!" She was determined to bring this monster down. 




DICE ROLL: Strength

success = Maureen lets go of one leg to grab the other, her teeth hook around a second tendon, ripping it as well- crippling the moose's hind end.

fail = The moose kicks Maureen off of it, who is temporary disoriented because of the vibration spell used by Ida.

Ida's mandibles clutched tightly to the great beast's hairy neck, anchoring her to the moose as it brayed and lurched back against the pull of her weight. Its crippled leg buckled and it groaned with pain, muscles rippling as it fought to stay upright with Ida dragging it down. She could feel its whole body shaking, pelt rippling wildly between bark and fur as it desperately held against her. For a moment it nearly seemed the three were in a stalemate, but white hot fury flashed across the ungulate's gaze before it shrieked and suddenly jerked forward, using Ida's weight to carry its center of gravity to its front hooves so that it could rear back and kick wildly with its uninjured leg. 

Ida couldn't see whether or not the blows landed on Maureen, her own gaze swamped by dark fur and snow as she grunted and dug her mandibles deeper. She could feel it pushing upwards again and lurching its head side to side, braying with rage as it attempted to shake the wolf's hold. Her own front paws brushed the snow as the moose shifted; she scrabbled desperately for a hold on the earth as she huffed for air stale air around its foul-smelling pelt and attempted to drag it further down. She gnashed her blunted fangs, twisting her head awkwardly in an attempt to get her main pair of jaws close enough to latch around its windpipe as she challenged its volume with snarls and spits of her own.

Despite her hold on the moose, she was practically blind and deaf behind the curtain of fur and the horrific noise. She couldn't see where its frantic bucking and twisting was dragging her to, only that her hind paws ground harshly through the snow and sent cold stabs of pain lancing up her flank. In reality, it was attempting to lurch itself back towards the tree where it had initially camouflaged, throwing its head back again and heaving with its powerful shoulders to try and swing Ida into its trunk to dislodge her.

SUCCESS: Ida manages to bite into the moose's windpipe and squeeze, beginning to choke it for -1 hp.
FAIL: Ida only manages to bite clumps of fur, unable to get any deeper.

IDA DICE ROLL: Constitution
SUCCESS: Despite the moose's best efforts, Ida remains latched to it and continues dragging it down, giving Maureen an opportunity to attack/recover.
FAIL: Ida looses her grasp on the moose and falls backwards, opening herself to an attack and getting battered by its front hooves for -1 hp.

MOOSE DICE ROLL: Strength
SUCCESS: The moose manages to swing Ida into the tree trunk, knocking her off if her constitution roll failed. -1 hp for her even if she stays latched.
FAIL: The moose isn't strong enough or close enough to the tree to swing Ida into it, instead tiring itself further.
