Thankfully, Malachi agrees to a hunt, and wastes no time in looking for a trail. Matthias follows a few feet behind, looking and listening for prey but not doing much in the way of actual tracking. As they search, the wolf asks more about Matt's own children, and without even looking at the other Matthias responds with a simple, "Bold of you to assume it's just one," suspicious, almost. Clearly, he wasn't going to clarify his family situation any more than that.
Then he found the trail of a goat, and Matthias' attention snaps back ahead of them. The goat, almost surprisingly, decides to attack Malachi than make a break for it in the face of a predator. But then Matthias remembers his encounters with equally as aggressive wildlife, and notes that's just how Argaia seems to be.
The blue lion runs and jumps into the air, wings carrying him airborne as he makes an arch towards the goat. First, he tries to slam into the goat, intending to knock it down. Then, after righting himself, he would attempt to slash at its flank/back leg. If they could cripple it first, they could kill it faster. He kept his head low, wings folded tightly to his sides, and legs spread for balance.

"Bold of you to assume it's just one," The words follow him as he was tacking the goat. "I was the only one to survive my litter." He shrugs it off, "Do you have more than one?" He throws the question over his shoulder, while he was tracking the goat.

Malachi's first charge is a success. He slams into the goat, knocking it backwards as the big cat takes the moment to sail into action.
His first attack fails, but he is able to slash the goat's right hind-leg, crippling it so that it could not move as fastly as it needed to.
Malachi would bend his will, activating his illusion magic towards the goat, trying to calm it down with soothing images of grazing on the bluffs while he attempts to sneak up on the goat to grab it's windpipe inside of his jaws; if the goat couldn't breathe it couldn't fight back.

Success = Malachi's spell soothes the goat and it becomes calm under the illiusion of saftey.
fail = The spell fails and angers the goat further.

Pain erupts in the goat's backleg. The injured limb falters under the cloven-footed mammal's weight. When it turns back, it is suddenly in a field filled with fresh, healthy grass, away from the dangers of the predators around it. Confused but simple-minded, the goat flicks its tail and moves towards the succulent green, only to be brought back to reality, jaws clamped around its neck.
It bleats in terror and pain, and begins trying to buck at the blue one, and drag the other beast along the ground to get it off. The ram tries to make a break for it, regardless of its injured leg.

The ram had moved just enough for Matthias' landing to not be true. He whirled around though, and was still able to tear at the ligaments of one of the goat's hind legs. Suddenly, despite the pain it must've felt, it began to grow calm, as if in a trance. Matthias looked to Malachi with newfound suspicion - what was he doing to it? What was he capable of? He watched as the young wolf snuck up around the goat, then leap and grab at its throat. He'd have to keep such a tactic in mind.
The ram bucked wildly, and Matthias attempted to back out of the way, wings propelling him rapidly backwards. Deciding to show off some of his own capabilities, he focuses on using telekinesis, wanting to force the ram to stop moving and flatten itself to the ground for an easier, quicker kill. At the same time, just in case his power didn't work, he'd prowl around the woolly creature, looking for a good position to grab at it.
